Making an Impact on the Lives of our Honorees One at a Time

2023 9/11 Remembrance Honorees

David Gomez

Seven years service as an US Army Combat Medic who served in Iraq and Korea. Currently serves as a Paramedic Driver Engineer with the Villages Fire Rescue. Single father of two children ages eight and twelve. He is fighting through PTSD as well as financial challenges. His plan is to secure private and safe housing for his family through UNA support.

Kevin Osborne

Former Deputy Sheriff in Sumter County who previously served as a police officer in Williston. He is married with two daughters fourteen and eleven. He had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease for a number of years which forced him to step down. As a result, through the loss of his insurance benefits his prescription drugs currently cost several thousand dollars per month. The award from UNA will help to offset a portion of the cost.

Mason Guyette

A veteran of the US Army who served in Iraq. He currently serves as a full time Firefighter/Paramedic with Villages Fire Rescue, He is married with two children ages fifteen and twelve. His wife is battling medical issues resulting in multiple trips per month to the Mayo Clinic.  The award from UNA will ease some of the medical bills and expenses from traveling back and forth to Jacksonville for treatment.

Jonathon Tellini

A Lieutenant/Paramedic for Sumter County Fire and EMS where he has served for the past nine years. He is married with six children. His fourteen year old child has been diagnosed with Large B-Cell Lymphoma. This aggressive cancer has his son battling for his life. The award from UNA would ease some of the financial burden the family has incurred in the fight to save his son’s life.

Presentation of Honoree Checks

The 2023 honoree check presentation took place at the Eisenhower Recreation Center.  Pictured left are the 4 honorees, Kevin Osborne, David Gomez, Jonathon Tellini, and Mason Guyette.  Pictured center are the honorees with the Board of the United Neighborhood Alliance.  Pictured right are the honorees and their families.
